Namaa is the Arabic word for growth: the increase that comes from something real growing, rather than from money multiplying on its own. It is a deliberate choice of name for a platform built on the principle that a return should come from ownership of a productive asset.
Namaa Capital is the Shariah window of Abbasi and Company (Private) Limited, with Meezan Bank serving as its Shariah Advisor. Abbasi and Company is a TREC holder of Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited and of Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, incorporated in 1999 and regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan.
Namaa Capital provides retail and institutional investors with access to Shariah compliant capital market solutions, including equity and fixed income products.
That matters practically. The licence, the capital adequacy, the custody arrangements at CDC, the clearing through NCCPL, the audited accounts and the complaints process are all the firm’s: decades of infrastructure, not a new venture. What Namaa Capital adds is the screening discipline and a universe restricted to what passes it.
